Soft Archives

Solo exhibition
Karas Art Hub, Zagreb, Croatia

“Soft Archives” expands my long-standing engagement with typography, migration, and belonging through handmade paper. Building on years of working with letterpress, wood type, and print, I began creating paper sheets that carry traces of language rather than fully legible text. Fibers, embedded letterforms, texture, and color become ways of thinking about memory, community, and home.

Created in Chicago and exhibited in Zagreb, these works bring together what the catalog writer Ivan Bujan describes as my "hard" and "soft" archives: the material history of printing and the more tactile, open, and communal processes of papermaking. The project reflects an evolving practice shaped by collaboration, movement across places, and an ongoing search for forms of belonging that remain unfinished and in motion.
